As underscored throughout this website, UCSF Campus Housing is the best place to check for housing information first. International postdocs may also want to refer to the housing resources page, maintained by the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO).
The Postdoc Office has heard a few horror stories from postdocs who rented places without first seeing them in person. We urge you to consult with other postdocs or students in the lab you are going to work in before you rent anything, or contact the Postdoc Office for advice.
