UCSF celebrates the fourteenth annual National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) from September 18 through September 22, 2023. The Office for Postdoctoral Scholars and the Postdoctoral Scholars Association encourage you to help us celebrate UCSF postdocs!

Free Gym Week for Postdocs - October 23 to 28 - an extended NPAW event

The Office for Postdoctoral Scholars is pleased to partner with the Postdoctoral Scholars Association (PSA) to announce the upcoming Postdoc Fitness Center Open House Oct. 23 - Oct. 28 at the Mission Bay and the Parnassus Fitness and Recreation Centers!

During Open House Week, Postdocs can:

  • Use all fitness center equipment
  • Register to take exercise classes
  • Utilize fitness center indoor and outdoor pools
  • Participate in drop-in sports and leagues
  • Access lockers, showers and saunas
  • Learn More about UCSF Fitness Centers

Lands End Walk • Get an early start on NPAW with a walk around scenic Land's End in San Francisco with the Postdoctoral Scholars Association and The Gladstone Institutes! The walk will last about 2 hours, and family and friends are welcome. RSVP to attend, and meet at the Land's End parking lot. Don't forget to bring water and snacks!

Postdoc Slam 2023 • Join us for the 6th UCSF Postdoc Slam competition! Our popular research communication competition for postdocs is back, and we are planning for an exciting event. Ten UCSF postdoc finalists will present their research in three minutes or less, in language accessible to a general audience. Getting Feedback on Faculty Application Materials • If you've already written your CV and Cover Letter and want feedback  on them, this Office of Career Development workshop is for you. Participants will be paired together and will use a checklist based on the Academic Career Readiness Assessment (ACRA) to give and receive constructive feedback on their CV and Cover Letter.
