UC Postdoctoral Scholars Benefits Plan (PSBP) from Garnett Powers and Associates (GPA)
All postdoctoral scholars at the University of California must be provided health insurance. The PI is responsible for 100% of the cost of such benefits which includes the HMO Medical plan and the Dental and Vision plans. The PI is also responsible for Short-term disability, Life/Accident, and/or Workers Comp. A description of benefits (medical, vision, dental, life insurance, and disability), enrollment instructions, and all necessary forms are available at the GPA website.

As of January 1, 2007, the Postdoctoral Scholars Benefits Plan (PSBP) includes automatic Repatriation and Medical Evacuation coverage necessary to satisfy the J Visa Program for Postdocs holding J-1 visas and their dependents with J-2 visas.
