This is the third and final session in a three-part series on writing for policymakers.

Ever wonder how new research initiatives get started or how to disseminate your research to an audience beyond your specific field? Dr. Mary Maxon, associate laboratory director for biosciences at Berkeley Laboratory and former assistant director for biological research at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) under President Obama, will lead a workshop on writing white papers. Learn about the different ways scientists can use their expertise to influence policy within the scientific community, including writing white papers and responding to requests for information from the National Academies and funding agencies.

This series is co-sponsored by the Science Policy Group at UCSF, the Office of Science Policy and Strategy, ASGD, and UCSF Government Relations.
