Ten Postdocs are on Their Way to Independence

Person wheeling red luggageLaunched in 2018, the Berkelhammer Postdoc Travel Award is designed to help postdoctoral scholars at UCSF lay the foundation for their careers as independent researchers. The Award supports travel to a conference, workshop, or event where the postdoc can either present their own independent research project, or to gain the knowledge, skills, and professional contacts that will enable them to move into a field distinct from their postdoctoral supervisor’s research program.

From the over 75 applications we received, a panel of six faculty reviewers selected ten awardees. Each of the following ten recipients will receive $2,500 for travel in 2020:
